Pre Surgery Fun

After finishing with my finals (thanks to my teachers who let me take them early) I hit the road with Nate and Meredith and we drove up to Ogden. My grandparents live in Ogden, and my parents and sister Jenn were waiting for us there. We all got together for some nice family time before the big surgery.

On Saturday we had a special treat. My grandparents have a friend down the road with a huge library of all sorts of books. He even has a first edition Book Of Mormon from 1830 that he let us hold and look through!

Ellie’s birthday was on Sunday. I was able to go to church with her and her family in Roy, and hang out with them for the day. It was a lot of fun! Her family sure is great, and they remind me a lot of my family.

A huge chunk of the family was in town this week, so on Sunday, we had a little BBQ and took some pictures with everyone that was there.

On Monday, we even took the pictures further and got some professional photos taken of the family. Here are some of the Grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa Gibbs.

Tuesday! Tuesday was my big 21st birthday, and we celebrated by going bowling at Fat Cats in downtown Ogden. We played 2 games…and I will admit… Ellie beat me in one game. I will blame it on the fact that I have a hip problem! Just kidding, Ellie rocks!

Late Tuesday night we went to a baby blessing for my cousin Justin’s little boy Ethan. After we got home, I opened a couple presents. Ellie and her mom made me this AWESOME blanket for my recovery. I tested it out last night, and so far… it’s amazing! Thanks guys =). Also, Ellie got me a Leatherman Micra, which is probably the coolest and most handy tool in the world! Thanks Ellie!

Well, those have been my last days before surgery. We just had a “Last Supper” with some of the family. I have to leave for my surgery tomorrow (Thursday) at 5am to check in at the hospital at 6. The surgery starts at 8am, and will go until probably 11 or 12. I will be in the hospital at the University of Utah from Thursday until at least Sunday or Monday. So if you want to stop and make a visit, feel free! Just give me a call or texti, my parents will be happy to give you the info. Thanks for all your support and keep checking back for surgery updates!
